Players of the Week: Katherine Kanoff ’12 & Jake Duker ’09
By Jasmine Yang, Sports Editor
Katherine Kanoff ’12—Volleyball

After only three weeks, outside hitter Katherine Kanoff ’12 has already made her mark on the league. Kanoff’s offense was instrumental in helping the Jeffs cruise to victories in three matches last weekend, and she has the NESCAC Player of the Week honors to prove it.

Kanoff tallied 27 kills in the three 3-0 wins against Colby, Bates and Bowdoin Colleges. And in addition to being a valuable hitter, she has a reputation as an all-around player. She ranks second in the team for digs per game (2.9) and sits first in number of service aces (26).

If the first ten games are any indication, Kanoff should have a spectacular rookie year.

Jake Duker ’09—Men’s Soccer

Senior tri-captain and standout forward Jake Duker gave a stellar performance this past weekend, scoring two goals in a 6-1 victory against Bates College and adding three more in the Jeffs’ 7-0 win against Suffolk University. His outstanding play earned him NESCAC Player of the Week honors.

After the disappointing loss against Middlebury, Duker’s leadership on the field has helped the team to regroup. Duker leads the NESCAC in points-per-game (3.75) and goals-per-game (1.75). He will continue to be a crucial element for the Jeffs’ offense this season.
