Junior forward Molly Malloy has once again proven herself to be a valuable offensive player on the field. Malloy received NESCAC Player of the Week honors for Oct. 13, after recording five goals and an assist in the Jeffs’ matches against Western New England and Colby Colleges.
Malloy possesses the highest shot percentage on the team (0.333) and is tied for first place in goals scored this season (6).
Her performance is made more noteworthy by the fact that she missed four games and was used sparingly in others due to tendonitis. If the statistics are any indication, Malloy has fully recovered.
Matt Eberhart ’10—Football
Junior placekicker Matt Eberhart received NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Amherst’s 17-10 win over Wesleyan University.
Eberhart took charge of the Jeffs’ two kickoffs and successfully converted on two extra points. Eberhart also averaged 41.5 yards on eight punts. He hit a 22-yard field goal before the end of the first half, which helped Amherst rally to a victory to claim the No. 2 spot in the NESCAC.
After being named to the All-NESCAC Second Team as a sophomore, Eberhart has continued to improve. So far this season, he has hit all four field goal attempts.
