After cruising to easy victories against Colby College and Wesleyan University, the men and women’s swimming and diving teams take on their first challenge of the year against Middlebury College.

Expect senior tri-captain Christian Wirzke to dominate the freestyle events on the men’s side, as well as anchor key relays. Sophomore Kendra Stern will be a powerhouse as always for the women. After a strong performance in her opening weekend, first-year Becca Thompson will also be one to watch for fast times and big contributions.

Middlebury will rely on its returnees from last season. Senior Kevin O’Rourke, an all-America honorable mention last year, will look to challenge Witzke for dominance in the free. On the women’s side, Kate Soja ‘10 returns with all-America honorable mention honors in the 200 fly and will look to contribute valuable points.
