Players of the Week: Lindsey Harrington '09 women's ice hockey and Sarah Leyman '11 women's basketba

Senior forward Lindsay Harrington has been on a red-hot scoring run in the past two weeks. In Saturday’s 6-1 victory over Hamilton, Harrington scored two goals and assisted another to earn three points. In the last five games alone she has scored a total of 11 points.

Last week, in the process of her amazing run, Harrington also earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for a three-goal, two- assist weekend in which the Jeffs went 2-0-0. The forward scored a goal and assisted the gamewinner in a 4-3 victory over Bowdoin, followed the next day by two goals and an assist in a 7-1 win at Colby.

Sophomore forward Sarah Leyman earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for her performance in the Jeffs’ 1-1 weekend.

Leyman averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. In a buzzer beater loss to Bowdoin, Leyman had 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. The next day, she followed with a career-high 22 points and a personal-best 11 rebounds to lead the Jeffs to a 65-64 win over Colby. Leyman shot .765 from the floor (13-for-17) and .778 from the foul line (14-for-18) on the weekend.

Leyman has been key for the Jeffs for the past two seasons and currently leads the team in scoring.
