Game of the Week: Women’s Ice Hockey vs. Middlebury
By Morgan Toy
It may be Valentine’s Day, but there is no love between Amherst and Middlebury. The two are fierce NESCAC rivals when it comes to women’s ice hockey, and the two are the top seeds — far above the rest of the competition — in the league.

Leading scorer Courtney Hanlon ’11 should be an offensive force as always, while senior forward Lindsay Harrington will need to continue her offensive onslaught that began a few weeks ago, which moved her to the top of the scorer’s column. Meanwhile, goalie Krystyn Elek ’10 will anchor the Lord Jeffs on the defensive end.

For Middlebury, seniors Mollie Vitt and Annmarie Cellino easily lead the team in scoring, with 5 points separating them from the rest of the pack, and only a 1 point difference between the two. Middlebury will look to them to spear the offense and try to steal a win from the Jeffs at their home rink.
