Game of the Week: Men's Ice Hockey vs. Middlebury
By Morgan Toy
The Amherst-Middlebury hockey rivalry returns to Orr Rink for the second consecituve week, as men’s team takes on the Panthers. Last week, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, a Lord Jeffs’ victory over New England College was coupled with a Middlebury loss. The pair of games broke the tie between the teams and gave Amherst sole posession of first place in the NESCAC. With only one other game besides this in the regular season, it is a crucial conference match-up.

Senior captain Jeff Landers will look to continue his stellar performance this year as the NESCAC’s top-scoring defenseman. Fellow senior Brendan Powers, as one of the team’s leading scorers, should also be a significant presence. Meanwhile sophomore Jonathan LaRose will hold things down for the Jeffs in the net.

Middlebury will rely on offensive production from leading scorers John Sullivan ’10 and rookie phenomenon Martin Drolet, who is also second in total points.
