Game of the Week: Ice Hockey NESCAC Semifinals and Finals
By Morgan Toy '11, Sports Editor
Both the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams earned home ice throughout the NESCAC Championships and now stand poised on the brink of a conference title.

The men get the first shot at glory on Friday and Saturday. Captain Jeff Landers ’09 will be key on offense as the points and goals leader, as well as on defense. Sophomore goalie phenoms Jonathan LaRose and Cole Anderson will be key to the Jeffs’ success, as the two lead the NESCAC in nearly every goaltending category.

The women get their turn on Saturday and Sunday. The ladies will rely on offensive production from points and goals leaders Courtney Hanlon ’11 and Lindsey Harrington ’09. Hanlon is a consistent scoring option, while Harrington is especially deadly against Middlebury, whom the Jeffs will most likely see at the championship game. Finally, goaltender Krystyn Elek ’10 is the foundation of the Jeffs’ defense and has been essential in the Jeffs’ last two championship runs.
