Players of the Week: Jaci Daigneault '11 and Kai Robinson '09

Despite the Jeffs’ disappointing loss to Bowdoin in this weekend’s NESCAC championship, sophomore guard/forward Jaci Daigneault shined in a continuation of her impressive performance this season.

Daigneault led all scorers with 22 points while also grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking three shots. This performance came in a game in which no other Jeffs player saw double figures.

With her performance this past weekend, Daigneault now holds the top spots in scoring, scoring average and field goal percentage for the Jeffs. With NCAA play beginning this week, Daigneault will no doubt be key to the Jeffs’ success.

Senior Kai Robinson took home Diver of the Meet honors for the second year in a row as part of the Jeffs’ third place finish at the NESCAC championships this weekend.

Robinson’s scores of 527.75 in Friday’s 1-m event and 541.80 on the 3-m board on Sunday also automatically qualified him for the NCAA Div. III Championships, where he won a pair of titles last year.

Since his transfer in the spring of last year, Robinson has been an amazing presence for the Jeffs. In his entire career at Amherst, Robinson has only lost a diving event three times.
