Game of the Week: Women's Soccer vs. Bowdoin College
By Melissa Sullivan '12
When the women’s soccer team takes on Bowdoin College, they hope to avenge last year’s double overtime 3-3 tie. Though the Jeffs finished as the nation’s fifth-best team with a 14-3-3 record and the Polar Bears finished with a 7-5-4 record, both teams will be eager to make their 2009 debut with a win after last year’s stalemate.

The Amherst contingent will be led by tri-captain midfielder and 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year Meg Murphy ’10, all-NESCAC First Team forward Kyla Woodhouse ’11 and all-NESCAC Second Team goalkeeper Allie Horwitz ’12.

The Bowdoin team will be bolstered by 2008 First Team all-NESCAC midfielder Dana Riker ’10 and Second Team all-NESCAC forward Ellery Gould ’12, who led the team in goals and points last year.

This Saturday’s match-up will be the only women’s soccer weekend home game of September.
