Jae Heo ’12 immediately impacted the men’s soccer team as a forward in his 2008 debut season. He recorded the second-most points (28) in the NESCAC and the third-most goals (12) in the conference as the Jeffs experienced their most successful season ever.

But Heo, a South Korean citizen, will not return to Amherst until 2011, as he is now serving his country’s mandatory two years as a soldier in the South Korean navy.

Heo, who recorded a hat trick against Tufts University in his rookie season, now keeps a blog on the Amherst Sports Information website, chronicling his time in the navy.
