The volleyball team faces rival Middlebury College in the upcoming Amherst Classic tournament this weekend. Hoping to pull off a win for Amherst are the fierce tri-captains Rachel Yorke ’11, Bethany Belisle ’10 and Jackie Berkley ’11. Yorke is the top defensive player for the Jeffs with 2.88 digs/set. Also heading up the defensive is senior Bethany Belisle. Berkely has posted 2.10 digs/set and will provide another defensive anchor. So far, the volleyball team is building on a successful season (4-1) and with the presence of newcomers on the team, the Jeffs look to serve up a win.

Senior Natalie DuPree and rookie Jane Handel stand out as top players on the Middlebury team. DuPree is a leading force on the Middlebury defense with impressive performances this season. Sophomore Handel is the reigning NESCAC Rookie of the Year. With Middlebury facing only one loss this season, Saturday’s game is sure to be a competitive match.
