Jeffs Challenge the Bowdoin College Polar Bears
By Briana Hanny '13, Section Editor
The Jeffs had a victorious start to the season, opening with a 21-12 win against Hamilton College on Sept. 26. The football team, currently tied for first on the NESCAC charts, will take on the Bowdoin Polar Bears on Saturday, who also opened their season with a win.

The team will have to use the same force as against Hamilton to maintain their winning momentum against Bowdoin. Junior quarterback Alex Vetras made a career-high three touchdown tosses without interceptions during the Hamilton game, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with.

In addition, Kell and teammate sophomore Pat Noone were named the Offensive Co-Players of the Week. The Bowdoin team has shown that they are ready to win and will be a great match for the Amherst Jeffs this Saturday. Despite the high performance of the Bowdoin team, the Jeffs have players like defensive lineman Edwin Urey ’10 and inside linebacker Mike Taylor ’10 who can force a win against the Polar Bears.
