Game of the Week: Football vs. Wesleyan
By Bruno Wernick '13, Section Editor
Fresh off a stirring win against Colby College, the Lord Jeffs look to mantain their undefeated status on Saturday against 2-2 Wesleyan University. The Jeffs have faced the Cardinals 86 times in the past, squeezing out a 42-35-9 advantage overall and winning 14 of their 15 last matchups.

Key to an Amherst victory will be its pair of senior defensive backs, Fran Florio ‘10 and Fred Argir ‘10, both of whom have already earned two picks on the season. The senior-heavy defensive line will prove to be equally important relying on Edwin Urey ‘10 and outside linebaker Jeff Katz ‘11. Offensively, Amherst is averaging an extremely respectable 223.2 yards per game in the air, with their ground game at 56.8 lagging somewhat behind.

Wesleyan will also depend heavily on its defense, one of the best in the NESCAC, which has only allowed 237.5 yards per game on average. The Cardinals offense will look to improv their ground game against the Jeffs, aftering producing only 117 yards in their last two outings.
